@thecaspiansea I just had a conversation with a friend on this exact topic. While no two peoples are exactly the same, the Irish and the British, due to our close proximity, are becoming more similar in many ways as the decades pass.
It has to be said, there are definitely still many, many traits uniquely Irish, and many more that are uniquely English or Welsh or Scottish, and always will be.
I think, one way or another, the Irish and the British will be glad of each other before too long.
